Like so many other Americans I have been overweight my whole life. I've been on diets and workout plans for as long as I can remember. Some of the diets worked and I lost 20+ lbs and some were just pure torture. Unfortunately none of the diets kept the weight off and surely enough the number on the scale would slowly increase while I was still on the diet leading me to hit rock bottom time and time again.
In July of 2016 I looked into joining the Army. I was quickly told don't even bother, due to my weight. I was crushed and checked this off as a failure. Exactly 1 year later I spoke with someone who rekindled my desire to join the Army. They gave me hope in the possibility losing the weight necessary to join. I have been on my journey since August 10th 2017, and I have a considerable amount of weight to lose! 75 lbs to be exact. My starting weight was 210 lbs! My goal weight is 130 lbs! I have successfully embarked on my journey to lose 80 lbs. It has not been easy and I do not expect it to be any easier as the days go on. But slowly through changing my lifestyle and habits I have begun to chisel off weight. I hope this blog inspires someone to change their life for the better too! So join me on my journey! |
